Flaxseeds are my favourite phytooestrogen, which although many hundreds of times weaker than human oestrogen have the seemingly magic ability to increase oestrogen levels when they're low and reduce them when they're too high.
This can be helpful not only menopausal women in reducing symptoms like hot flushes, but may also help with pre-menstrual syndrome and osteoporosis. They're also loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and can help lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, as well as improve constipation.
Other rich sources of phtyo-oestrogens are soy beans e.g. edamame and tofu.
