Why your menopause diet may not be as healthy as you think it is!

“I don’t eat junk food, I eat lots of fruit & veg.”

This is something I hear a lot when I’m talking to women about menopause nutrition. Just because you don’t eat junk and processed food [which is a smart move by the way] and eat plenty of fruit and veg [also a good thing in general], doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re eating the right food to keep your hormones happy.

If you’ve got symptoms such as brain fog, mood swings, anxiety, sleep disruption, hot flushes, are putting on weight and feel exhausted [delete as appropriate] then that is a sign that your hormones are misbehaving and out of balance.

At menopause and perimenopause it’s oversimplistic to say the route cause of all symptoms is a hormone deficiency. However, with the media hype heavily focused on this message, you would be forgiven for thinking this is the case!

As a result, many of my clients are initially unsure whether nutrition and lifestyle changes could make a difference to their menopause symptoms, until they try it. Then they can’t believe how good they feel.

No matter whether you choose to take hormone replacement medication or not, it’s crucial to look at your body as a whole. It’s a complex system in which nutrition and lifestyle play a pivotal role in all things hormonal.

If you’re confused about menopause nutrition, what’s healthy and what’s not then I’ve got a great new group programme coming soon.

In the meantime, if you’d prefer to work with me 1:1 I’m offering The Menopause Method [my personalised 16-week private nutrition coaching programme] at the 2022 price of £995 to two women who are committed, ready and want to learn how to address their specific symptoms through nutrition and lifestyle changes, so they can get back to feeling normal again.
