Why you can’t out-supplement a poor diet – especially at menopause!

When troublesome menopause symptoms hit us, our pill for an ill healthcare system makes it likely you’ll think first about what supplements will help magically fix your symptoms.

Forgetting that the groundwork in good nutrition and lifestyle practices are an essential foundation and starting point to managing your symptoms naturally.

I see so many questions in online groups and forums asking about the ‘magic pill’ fix to hot flushes, brain fog, anxiety, disrupted sleep etc.

Supplements can help, however here’s why they won’t work in isolation:-

💊 There’s no such thing as a quick fix to menopause symptoms. Taking supplements is like putting on a sticking plaster you’re not addressing the underlying cause driving it/them.

💎 As humans we’re all biochemically unique individuals – just like diamonds. Taking the same supplement that worked for your friend Janet, doesn't mean it’ll work for you. No two women's bodies are the same!

💀 Not all supplements are made equal. Stocking up on High Street buy-1-get-1 free pills you “think” you need, may be doing your body more harm than good. The High Street is notorious for selling supplements that contain fillers, emulsifiers and VERY little of the actual active ingredient you need.

📜 Self -prescribing yourself supplements you think you need can not only be dangerous, but mixing the wrong supplements together [or even worse with prescription medication] could be having the opposite effect.

Supplements can be part of the puzzle, however understanding what your body needs and
individualising your approach to menopause with nutrition and lifestyle changes are essential.

Supplements are a multi-million-pound business and it seems that anything associated with menopause has become a recipe for printing money [aka menopause-washing].

Don’t fall for empty promises and quick fixes.

I can certainly advise on supplements, but strongly recommend you save your precious pennies and look at the diet and lifestyle factors first!
