Did you know that 50% of all cancers are preventable?

You may be surprised to learn that being diagnosed with cancer is not an inevitable consequence of ageing, even if you have a family history or genetic susceptibility for cancer.

Research shows that up to 50% of cancer cases and deaths are preventable through early detection and healthy lifestyle choices.

This means that the food and lifestyle choices you make every day can lower your risk for several types of cancer.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer almost 10 years ago, it came as a huge shock, because I thought I had a healthy diet and lifestyle. What I learned through intensive research and later study really helped me to understand just how much you can do to help yourself, that is within your control every single day.

If you’re worried about cancer, join me and local GP and Lifestyle Medicine Doctor Kate Staveley from @hexagonhealthuk for a practical and interactive wellbeing workshop on Thursday 25 April at The Old Court in Windsor, to learn what you can do to reduce your risk of cancer.

We’ll cover practical tips to enable you to create your own personal action plan that includes nutrition, exercise, sleep and lots more.

We’ll also be talking about what screening options are currently available and will be introducing a revolutionary new blood test that detects up to 70 different cancers.
