Could toxic load be driving your menopause symptoms?

This is an area not widely discussed in the media, however if you’ve been feeling extra hot and bothered lately, or mood swings, night sweats, fatigue, or stubborn weight gain are getting you down. It could be your toxic load. 🚫🧪

Our bodies and livers in particular are designed to detoxify the many substances we come into contact with, but modern life is packed with hidden chemicals and environmental toxins that can overwhelm your system—especially during menopause. 🛑

Have you every looked at the list of ingredients on the products you use on a daily basis? It’s thought that women apply on average 168 chemicals to their face and bodies every day. 😱

Then there are the cleaning products and various sprays we use around our homes.

Plus the fertilisers, pesticides and antibiotics used in food production and it all adds up to a pretty hefty toxic load.

Most of these chemicals have not been safety tested on humans and many of them can disrupt your hormones, making your menopause symptoms worse.

This happens because structurally they’re very similar to oestrogen, which means that they can directly alter hormone levels, interfere with hormone receptors and stop hormones leaving the body.

So what can we do about it?

☠️ Reduce or avoid using chemical-based products as much as possible. There are so many chemical-free personal care and household cleaning products available to-day.

☠️ Choose organic food, free from pesticides, fertilisers and antibiotics.

☠️ Be kind to your liver [the organ that needs to makes safe and remove toxins and hormones from the body] by drinking enough water every day and eating lots of dark green leafy vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, kale, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts.

Don't overlook this important topic. I cover this in The Menopause Method - my 12-week 1:1 private nutrition coaching programme, designed to address YOUR specific symptoms and teach you how to manage your hormones naturally so that you can get back to feeling normal again.
