Why you should not just rely on HRT to disappear your menopause symptoms

Media coverage of the menopause and the focus on HRT as a magic solution for your symptoms completely over-simplifies the complexity of our bodies and how our hormones work.

I’m fed up of hearing about how menopause symptoms are caused by hormone deficiencies and therefore the only way to resolve them is to take re-placement hormones.

This approach completely overlooks the fact that hormones do not just sit in individual tanks waiting to be topped up like petrol in a car engine!

Hormones are created as a result of complex chemical processes. And every single step in each process requires the right building blocks or nutrients to function properly.

Starting with cholesterol as the primary building block and then moving on to ensure you’re getting the right nutrients and not too many of the wrong ones that affect the conversion processes, all affect hormonal balance.

I’ve worked with many clients taking HRT, who have had to reduce their dos-age once they’ve finished working with me and have optimised all the diet and lifestyle factors they can.
