Meet Sharon.
When I first met Sharon back in May she really wanted to find a new way to lose weight and keep it off. She was also feeling very anxious and had a lot of knee and back pain.
Sharon had tried everything. Cutting calories, Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Slimfast and fasting!
BUT nothing she tried helped shift the weight, or if she did manage to lose a few pounds she soon piled it all back on.
Sharon thought she had a healthy diet as she didn’t eat any processed food and liked cooking meals from scratch with fresh, natural ingredients.
What she didn’t realise though was that all the starchy carbs such as bread, pasta and potatoes she was eating was causing her blood sugar to spike, which in turn increases Insulin levels, making it very difficult to lose weight and much easier to put it on.
So how did Sharon lose the weight? She:
❤️adopted a low-carb diet
❤️ensured she was eating protein at each meal
❤️started doing more exercise [local ParkRun and wild water swimming]
And now after a few blips and set backs [including Covid] she has lost 1 stone. and feeling so much better.
Not only has she lost weight, she has more energy, is sleeping better, her knee pain and back ache have improved, she has increased confidence and her anxiety is 90% reduced!
She hasn’t found it easy but has persevered and is really happy that she has taken action to prevent future major health issues such as Type 2 Diabetes.
Her only regret is wishing she had understood how to lose weight consistently and sustainably 10 years ago.
