For me brain fog was the most distressing symptom of menopause that seemed to strike out of the blue.
At first I didn’t even realise it was menopause-related and couldn’t work out what was happening to me!
I suddenly found myself unable to think clearly and function at work like I used to and even simple tasks seemed beyond me in my senior corporate marketing role. I felt like I was really messing up and making a fool of myself.
I took myself off to the doctors, only to be offered antidepressants, which seemed crazy as I knew I wasn’t depressed….. but had no idea what else to do.
However, after changing my diet, including more green leafy veg; phytooestrogens such as flaxseeds, edamame beans and chickpeas; prioritising my sleep ensuring I got 7-8 hours a night; plus working on managing my stress levels through daily meditation and weekly yoga sessions; I started to feel less foggy and be able to think more clearly.
Can you relate?
